Our purpose is to provide a variety of accessible boating opportunities for people of varying abilities on open water and opportunities for people of varying abilities to engage together in water related activities. We believe that the freedom of movement provide on the water has a therapeutic effect and that demand is high; both locally and nationally.

You can support us by donating a one-off amount, setting up a regular gift or fundraising for us.

WAYS TO SUPPORT RIVERTIME ACCESSIBLE BOATING

Rivertime Accessible Boating operating as Accessible Boating Thames  is a registered charity number 1181307.

The charity is run entirely by volunteers and has no paid employees.  Maintaining and developing our water-based activities for people with disabilities and disadvantages is a very costly operation and we are extremely grateful to all those who donate money, time and expertise.

Our Appeals

We have the highest ambitions for the people who attend accessible boating sessions and we are continuously looking at ways to improve our support and facilities.

Below are the current projects that need your support; either by making a donation or by organising or taking part in a fundraising event. You can also just click on the general donations link to give an unrestricted donation.

Ways to Support Us

Fundraise

We follow the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and comply with the key principles embodied in the code. This means that we make a commitment to donors and fundraisers that our fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful.

You can read the full Code of Fundraising Practice here, but the key principles are:

  • We will commit to high standards
  • We will be clear, honest and open
  • We will be respectful
  • We will be fair and reasonable
  • We will be accountable and responsible
Volunteer

You can apply to volunteer your time to help on the land or on a boat.

We are dependent on a large group of experts with administrative and boating skills and can offer the requisite training where required.

To enquire about volunteering, please contact : info@accessibleboatingthames.org

Trusts and Foundations

Funding from charitable trusts and foundations is critical in helping to sustain the ongoing work of Accessible Boating Thames. This ensures that we continue to offer opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged adults, children and young people to develop a long term involvement with the river and accessible water sports by providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment on a regular basis.

Philanthropy & Major Gifts

If you wish to make a significant gift to Accessible Boating Thames, we would be delighted to work with you to ensure that the process of giving is a rewarding and uplifting experience.

Accessible Boating Thames offers a tailored service to meet your individual needs as a Philanthropy supporter and to thank you for your generosity in the best way possible, for you and your friends and family.

Our services to Philanthropy Supporters

We work with our supporters to explain our organisational needs and to understand your individual needs as a donor.

Some donors are happy to contribute to running costs, or to make a gift and accept a written acknowledgement. Others prefer to work closely with us in building a personal link with the charity and meeting the volunteers who make Accessible Boating Thames such a special charity.

We offer an individual service to each supporter. If you have chosen to fund a special project or item, we will keep you updated on its progress, and arrange visits to ensure you can see the benefit of your gift in action.

Call us on 01628 780700 to discuss the various options.

Leaving a Gift in Your Will

Why leave a gift?

By leaving a gift in your Will, you’ll be helping us to sustain the ongoing work of Accessible Boating Thames and to ensure that we continue to offer opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged adults, children and young people to develop a long term involvement with the river and accessible water sports by providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment on a regular basis.

Your support is crucial in enabling us to continue our work in years to come.

A Will is one of the simplest ways to ensure that your wishes are followed and that the future of your family and friends – in fact, all the people and causes you care about most – are provided for.

How can you support Accessible Boating Thames in your Will?

Get in touch with us for further advice on how to leave a gift.

Our pledge to you:

  • We value every gift no matter how large or small.
  • Your gift will be used in the best way to help our clients but if you specify a particular area of our work that you want your gift to fund, we will honour your wish.
  • We will respect your privacy and will handle your enquiry with sensitivity and respect.
  • You don’t have to tell us when you decide to give a gift in your Will, but we’d love to hear from you if you want to let us know about it.

If you have already made a Will and wish to amend it to include a gift to Accessible Boating Thames without drawing a new Will, you can complete a codicil form and hand it to your solicitor.
